Automotive Service Advisor (VW)
Description
Kuhn Honda/VW is seeking a dynamic, customer focused VW Service Advisor to join their Service Team!

Job Summary:
The VW Service Advisor is responsible for scheduling service work in the service department and for selling additional needed service to customers. The Service Advisor is the dealership's first-line customer-relations and service representative.

Job Responsibilities:
* Greet each customer in a prompt, courteous manner, let customers who are waiting in line know that they will be helped soon
* Communicate with service customers to determine the nature of the mechanical problems
* Secure agreement from customers before repairs; cover cost estimate; and approximate time when vehicle's work will be completed
* Obtain customer and vehicle data
* Maintain a dealership-prescribed standard for "hours per customer repair order written"
* Test drive the vehicle with the customer if there is any question regarding the nature of the problem
* Schedule appointments using dealership approved forms
* Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturer's specifications, using maintenance menus
* Keep a daily log of repair orders written, status as well as carryovers
* Handle minor customer complaints and misunderstandings
* Communicate the need for additional work when needed; explain the details to the customer, including the additional cost and time consideration and document properly on repair order
* Follow up progress of each repair order during the day, contact customers by telephone regarding changes in the estimate or time promised
* Handle telephone inquiries regarding work in process and appointments and return phone messages promptly
* Deliver vehicles to customers and answer any questions, review work preformed and explain charges and coverage
* Interpret warranty information and policies to customers
* Stay up to date on technical and performance information on all vehicles serviced by the dealership
* Refer leads and prospects for vehicle sales to the new and pre-owned sales departments
* Advise customers of parts ordered and make an appointment to have them installed before customer leaves
* Assist the service manager as necessary
* Follow company safety procedures to avoid exposure to fumes, dirt, dust and harsh chemicals
* Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Company's Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and suppliers
* Adheres to all company policies, procedures and safety standards
 
Required Experience
Qualifications:
* Must meet company's requirements for employment
* Must have valid driver's license
* Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles
* Demonstrated customer service skills
* Previous industry knowledge with VW products ideally, but any German manufacturer is preferred
* Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
* Two years experience in a retail position
* Sales experience (preferred)
* ASE certification is (preferred)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Professional appearance

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
* Exposure to inclement weather
* Ability to operate an automobile
* Prolonged periods of standing, stooping and bending
 
Required Education
*High School Diploma or equivalent
* 2 year or 4 year Degree or related field preferred

Honda/VW Dealership located in Tampa has multiple openings on the sales floor.  We will train the right candidate.

Job Purpose:
Sells automobiles by understanding and demonstrating characteristics, capabilities, and features; developing and qualifying buyers; closing sales. Also tasked with developing new pipelines of candidates through community outreach and networking to increase prospect flow.
  
Duties:
* Understands automobiles by studying characteristics, capabilities, and features; comparing and contrasting competitive models; inspecting automobiles.

* Develops buyers by maintaining rapport with previous customers; suggesting trade-ins; meeting past customers when in service; meeting prospects at community and networking activities; greeting drop-ins; responding to inquiries; recommending sales campaigns and promotions. You will be asked to meet daily, weekly and monthly goals dealing with a variety of different metrics that will allow you to have the most success in the sales role.

* Qualifies buyers by understanding buyer's requirements and interests; matching requirements and interests to various models; building rapport.

* Demonstrates automobiles by explaining characteristics, capabilities, and features; taking drives; explaining warranties and services.

* Closes sales by overcoming objections; asking for sales; negotiating price; completing sales or purchase contracts; explaining provisions; explaining and offering warranties, services, and financing; collects payment; delivers automobile.

* Provides sales management information by completing reports.

* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.

* Enhances dealership reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
 
*Utilize Contact Management CRM software to complete Daily Work Plan, visit with customers while in service, send out birthday, anniversary and holiday contacts, managing referral requests and prospecting efforts and following up with recent and past clients and prospects.
