An automaker can hit all the right notes when it comes to specs sheets, but at the end of the day the most important thing is user experience. Which is why Ward releases its list of 10 Best User Experiences or UX awards. This is only the second year for the WardsAuto User Experience Conference, and the first year that the 2018 VW Atlas is on the market, but the full-size SUV is already proving to be a fun model to drive. Here are some of the available features and advanced technology options that helped earn the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas this honor.

best user experience. That said, the VW Atlas does have a host of valuable standard features, including:

  • Rear privacy glass
  • Silver roof rails
  • Start-Stop system
  • LED lighting
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • VW Car-Net App-Connect
  • Rearview camera
  • Automatic post-collision braking

These are just some of the basics you can expect in the standard VW Atlas, but the model comes in 10 total trim levels, including the limited-edition Launch and the late-availability S. Available features highlighted by Wards include available smartwatch connectivity, the VW Digital Cockpit and eight total available driver assistance features.

Even some of the standard features earn high praise, and the VW Atlas was admired for the speed with which the infotainment system, which comes with a large 6.5 display, and its ease of use.

This year, WardsAuto editors reviewed 22 total vehicles that were either entirely new or updated, only 10 of which are honored at its WardsAuto User Experience Conference. Everything from available technology, to storage solution and interior layout are analyzed by the editors.
